Center Leg Freeway / I-395 Air Rights, Washington DC

Disposition: Sale of the air rights to develop 1.9 million square feet of office, 70,000 SF of retail, 180,000 SF of residential on a concrete deck over I-395. Negotiated the land disposition agreement of Air Rights, which included a provision for mixed-income residential with affordable housing. The project included the relocation of existing government facilities that were on site, renegotiation of agreements and easements with adjacent landowners and leaseholders, and reopening of streets that were closed.  The project required numerous local and federal government approvals including The DC Office of Planning, District Department of Transportation, Federal Highways, National Capital Planning Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, among others.
